Date Night #6 (Walking Hand in Hand)

Thanks for stopping by My Chick Flick: Date Night 6th edition. Please feel free to play along. The rules are posted on the Date Night page. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I hope Date Night adds a little more romance to your life.

On Saturday Scott and I rose early, well early for us on a Kidless Saturday. We picked up Kayla, and drove her down to my mom’s for a birthday party. Mom wrangled the two of us into a birthday present project that included fitting a brand spanking new rocking chair with a 5-point seat harness. Being that Scott’s love language is that whole doing things together business, this was right up his alley. Hey, I don’t mind accommodating my man! Ha! I want to brag on him a bit here so you can tune out for a moment if you want. Scott is a super genius when it comes to things like this, and it worked out perfectly. My niece sat in the rocker for over an hour, and just loved it! He engineered this thing to look like it was installed at the factory, and all done on the fly! Way to go! Ok bragging is over.

We were both hungry when we left the party, and stopped to eat pizza. Um yuck! We were craving one pizza and ate another, why do we do that to ourselves? We did enjoy great conversation as always, but the lunch was horrible.

As per my request, we walked the long aisles of the flea market, scouring over every cut glass dish in the place. It had been raining earlier in the day, which is normal for a flea market day, but in the heat had not subsided. Yucky mucky conditions made for a sticky hand holding adventure.

We both love to look at things at the flea market however, those things are different. VERY DIFFERENT. He was looking for boating things, and I was looking for dishes. Hand in hand we walked by tables of things that were made of glass. I would stop, and he would still be looking ahead. The only way he would have any idea that I had stopped is because I would drop his hand. He would automatically stop and have this look of “where did she go!” on his face. Um honey, I was right there looking.

I’m a looker, not a buyer. I rarely spend money until I find just the perfect thing that I’ve been desperately been stalking for quite some time.

There it was! A four place setting of a wonderful Platinum Wheat china set! I just knew it would be too much to buy, but he asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes! My eyes beaming up at him, he took out his wallet and asked for the price. The girl started counting and then tallied up $2.50! WOW!

All in all we spent a grand total of 5 bucks that day, on me anyways. The boat is a whole different story.

For hours at the Flea Market and then at Bass Pro Shop, we walked hand in hand. It was such a wonderful link. People always notice when couples hold hands. Older women will catch my eye sometimes and wink, or just smile as they glance down at our hands. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, but nothing beats spending the day walking hand in hand with my honey….nothing but….

Oh yeah! The Kissing Challenge from this week was wonderful! I haven’t even told Scott about it, but he knows the drill anyways. Our pecks are still there, especially when the kids are watching, but the long drawn out kisses have resulted in…well he’s almost late for work again this morning! Ha! That’s every morning this week so far. I’m getting butterflies again just thinking about it!
